Imagine

Today I listened -- really listened -- to the words of John Lennon's "Imagine." Quite beautiful -- and dreamy.
Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

A truly vile song

This song is basically a Leftist manifesto. First, rejection of a life beyond this - no heaven, no hell. Then, like the Communists, an "Internationale" - no countries, just one global politburo. No religion - well, the Communists tried to make that come true as well. No possessions - a brotherhood of man - well, that worked out really well, didn't it! No incentive, no effort, thus Communism resulting in nothing, equally shared by all. The nice melody really soothes you into the vile message. Of course, singing of "no possessions" is particularly cute coming from a gazillionaire.

Speaking of vile messages...

Particularly vile from someone who hides behind "anonymous" posts.

Imagine a world free of such hate...

Maybe a bit communist, but the hippy movement was a little communist, without the "government", maybe a lot "commune" without the "ist" :)

I point you to the lyric "Imagine there's no countries" - hardly a manifesto for a government, since there'd be no country.

Also, I don't usually get my political or religious messages from rock stars, especially uneducated ones in a 3 minute pop song. OK, nor do I from even educated long-winded rock stars. If you do, then write some rock songs and don't run for office.

Ok who cares if its comunistatheisist or what the song i think means that he imagines a world where people get to gether and dont fight over what they believe in, that means if we get together it doesent mean we cant believe in heaven or hell it means we shouldnt figh over them because we are on earth and is it that big of ad eal to argue over.
