Cha-ching!

Of course, they'll make money in the long run, because you'll buy something with that $100 credit at the Apple store that will cost two or three times the amount of your credit. Right?

Quite possibly one of the best marketing maneuvers of all time. I love the way Jobs "apologizes" for people eager to spend their money on his products. In the cell phone industry deep discounts and carrier subsidies make things like this happen every other day of the week.

Can you imagine what kind of different world we'd live in if the President had this kind of savvy with public relations (or perhaps had Apple's marketing team?)

Bryce, very interesting observation. Yes, if a certain someone were in charge of Apple, his response might have been, "Too bad... I am the decider here!"
